Two boys aged 15-16 from Tel Aviv are responsible for six robberies they committed while riding a scooter in Tel Aviv within a week, and on Thursday a prosecutor's statement was filed. Pending the filing of a serious indictment against them and a request to detain them until the end of the proceedings.
About two weeks ago, the police received a report of a shooting in Givon Square in Tel Aviv. Multiple police forces that poured into the area opened an investigation, and then it turned out that he was a man who was robbed by a scooter rider and then shot in the air. The investigation was entrusted to the Lev Tel Aviv police station in cooperation with the Neighborhoods station, and it emerged that the robbery involved two suspects who were suspected of being involved in additional robberies that took place in Tel Aviv – four of them on the same day.
Midday robbery
The two men allegedly robbed passersby while riding scooters, grabbing pedestrians' bags and fleeing with the loot on the scooters. According to the investigators, on 7 November 11, one of the suspects snatched a bag from a passerby walking on Haskalah Boulevard and stole a mobile phone from it. In addition, on 12 November the suspects grabbed the bag of a security guard walking in the Givon compound, and tried to snatch the bag of a woman walking in the Sarona compound, as a result of which she fell to the ground. Later, they tried to rob an elderly woman on LaGuardia Street in Tel Aviv and robbed another elderly woman on Ma'apilim Egoz Street in Tel Aviv. The next day, one of the suspects robbed another elderly woman, injuring her.
Police officers from the youth division at the Lev Tel Aviv and Neighborhood stations managed to identify the suspects and about a week ago located them and arrested them for interrogation. In searches of the suspects' homes, detectives found, among other things, numerous suspected stolen cell phones, a suspected fake ID card, and a pen suspected of being a firearm. Now, after a great deal of evidence has been collected against the suspects, a prosecutor's statement has been filed against them regarding the intention to file an indictment against them in the coming days.
