When you don't have a heart, you separate babies from their mothers. Between fathers and mothers. Between brothers and sisters. You smash everything to the minute. Leaves dust. Prevents the possibility of rehabilitation, a faint smile of hope.
When you don't have a heart, you find every way to pluck the nerves of the family members of those you uprooted from the beds, from the familiar, from the warm and loving, after you burned everything behind you, that you murdered all that is good and innocent. When they return, there will be nowhere to go, no home, no family. Just rips. You continue to abuse these heroic family rifts until the last moment, leaving them unknowing, taking your time, arguing about commas, inventing misunderstandings, breaking agreements, rubbing hands with pleasure at the unimaginable suffering.

When you don't have a heart, you manipulate until the other party, who is your victim, is mentally exhausted, begging for every speck you throw at him. You slice the cake into small pieces, painting yourself as a savior every time you give a piece, even though you know it won't satisfy him, the desire for repair, return, reconnection, healing, embracing. You know it will only increase hunger. That's exactly why you're doing it. That's how it is when you don't have a heart.
When you don't have a heart, you do evil, and market yourself as good. You murder and publicize yourself as a victim. You rape and abuse and blame the victim. That's how it is when you don't have a heart. Freedom fighters don't behave like that, just twisted monsters.

Hamas knows that even without the aggressive campaign to return the hostages, no one here sleeps a night without them sleeping here, at home, wrapped in love and patience. We will wait patiently until they recover a little and want to talk, and in the meantime we will sing softly, and wait and caress until they join. Hamas knows this, and it is blackmailing and will continue to squeeze this lemon to the end. He knows that outside of his twisted world there are people who have a heart, and that heart bleeds.
Maybe on the dark side of the world, that of Hamas, there are residents who see this and don't understand how this mechanism works. And maybe there are those who do, who see with eager eyes how we are willing to do almost anything to free our loved ones, and they want to be part of this normal, loving, enlightened world.
