Hamas leader in Gaza and planner of the October 7 massacre, Yahya Sinwar, met with abductees taken to a tunnel in the Gaza Strip, Channel 12 News reported Monday. According to the report, a female abductee who recently returned from captivity told her family that she met Sinwar in the first days of the war. He, she said, told the abductees in the tunnel: "Hello, I'm Yahya Sinwar. You are the most protected here, nothing will happen to you."
Sinwar is considered mortal by Israel and one of its top targets for assassination. In an interview with Israel Hayom last week, Cabinet member MK Aryeh Deri answered the question of whether Yahya Sinwar would die at the end of the war: "Why in the end? It will happen, God willing. We hit many murderers, from their political leadership to the brigade commanders and battalion commanders. There is not one of them who will be saved from this story. Everyone from Hamas is mortal, it's only a matter of time."
