An El Al flight that took off Tuesday evening from Newark Airport in New Jersey, USA, returned to New York after about half an hour in the air, following an unexpected technical malfunction.
The plane departing from Newark was diverted to land at JFK Airport, passengers were removed from the plane and are now awaiting an update on the date of their new flight. The plane in which the malfunction was found was an El Al Dreamliner, but the company emphasizes that there was no danger to passengers.

El Al said: "El Al flight LY028, which took off from Newark to Ben Gurion Airport, turned back after about 30 minutes in the air, due to an unexpected technical malfunction. The plane landed safely at JFK Airport."
Al added: "It should be emphasized that at no stage was there any danger to passengers and crew, and passengers will be updated on the new departure date. El Al prioritizes the safety and security of passengers and crew."
