Against the backdrop of complaints from residents of the Jordan Valley since the outbreak of the war about nighttime training with heavy fire by the Jordanian army near the border, Israel has appealed to the Hashemite Kingdom to resolve the problem, Israel Hayom has learned.
Complaints circulating on social networks show and hear Jordanian army exercises with live fire and armored vehicles on the eastern side of the Peace Valley. Residents of kibbutzim in the area expressed great concern about the training, noting that before the war there had never been military activity of this magnitude on the Jordanian side.

Following the complaints, Israel sent the kingdom a request to resolve the problem. In addition, the IDF doubled the number of reserve forces serving in the sector, as was done in the rest of the country.
The reason for the increase in forces is the fear that Arab villages on the western side of the Jordan Valley will carry out acts of terror against Israelis.

In Israel, it is believed that the background to the active activity of the Jordanian forces on the border is actually internal tensions in the kingdom against the background of the war. During the first week of the war, there were marches in solidarity with Hamas at a number of points on the border with Israel, posing an internal threat to stability there.
In addition, there is the problem of arms smuggling to Judea and Samaria through the border, and the two countries are working together to reduce it. It should be noted that in the longer term, Israel intends to build an advanced barrier on the border with Jordan, similar to the one erected on the other borders.
