President-elect Javier Milei has already arrived at Congress where this Wednesday he will participate in the Legislative Assembly that will proclaim him President, in a step prior to the swearing-in that will take place on December 10.
She will be next to Victoria Villarruel, who will also be anointed in her position as Vice President-elect during this meeting that convenes deputies and senators and will be headed by Cristina Kirchner.
The president-elect arrived at Congress after 14:30 p.m. and went straight to the precinct where he reaped the first greetings and compliments. He was joined by deputies Carlos Zapata and Alfredo Schiavoni.
There was also time for some selfies, as I was greeted by Senator Maurice Closs. Then came Hernán Lombardi with whom he exchanged an effusive embrace.
Villarruel arrived at the precinct around 15 p.m., was also approached by the deputies of Juntos por el Cambio. Villarruel then walked about three meters to hug Milei. While the president-elect was talking with José Luis Espert and later with Mario Negri, the head of the Radical Party, the vice president-elect exchanged a few minutes with Karina Banfi.
Carolina Píparo, who was removed from the ANSeS before taking office, arrived alone at Congress minutes before Milei, sat on one of the benches in front, but did not greet the president-elect when he entered the chamber, nor did she join the conversation with Villarruel.
The climate in Congress will have its particularities. Milei arrives in the midst of tensions over the authorities in the Senate and Deputies. The legislators of La Libertad Avanza want the president of the lower house to be their own deputy, but there are open negotiations with Cristina Ritondo (PRO) and Florencio Radazzo (PJ federal).
