On numerous mailboxes there is a sticker: "Please no advertising!". A particular version of this sticker caused a stir on the Internet.
Munich – Special offers, coupons and new openings: You often have to pick out your important, personal letters from a whole stack of promotional materials. The rest usually ends up in the trash. To circumvent this, a small notice has become established in Germany, which can be found on many mailboxes: "Please no advertising!"
The consumer advice centre confirms that stickers are sufficient as an objection in most cases. But the request to post only personal letters does not always work. Although more and more physical brochures are being discontinued, the remaining and many other advertising letters continue to end up in the mailboxes.
A resident of a house took the situation with humor and stuck a special variant of the sticker on his mailbox. In it, he demands that only a very special kind of advertising be received.
Beer Ad Only Please, Bizarre Sign on Mailbox Causes Laughter in the Reddit Community
The letterbox is emblazoned in capital letters with the words "No advertising, please, unless beer is on offer". A snapshot of this humorous sticker found its way onto Reddit and sparked buzz there. The user who published the post captioned the photo "Only in Germany".
Although one user described the slogan as "older than the internet", it got quite a few likes. Another user noted that the gag was "a howler every time." Another commenter joked: "Hey, what are you looking for at my mailbox?".
Not everyone finds the sign on the mailbox to laugh at
But not everyone could laugh at the post. Dissenting voices under the post write: "In which brochure of a grocer is there no beer in it". This is probably only true for a few. But one user shares: "With us Edeka, because they only sell water and juice, the beer is available with the connected drink."
It's not just residents who leave messages on their mailboxes. Messengers also often communicate through deposited notes. A note on the mailbox, which was attached by a DHL courier, caused amusement. Another messenger takes the opportunity to make a confession via note. With this explanation, a delay in delivery can be forgiven. (sp
