It's getting dangerous on Bavaria's roads. The German Weather Service has issued several warnings for black ice. In particular, car journeys should be avoided - if possible.
Munich - Winter has Bavaria firmly in its grip. For several days now, it has been snowing in large parts of the Free State, regionally even abundantly, such as in Franconia. Here, even individual schools had to remain closed for days at a time. In the Alpine region, it has been snowing in for quite some time. Heavy snowfall also fell from the sky in the state capital Munich on the last day of November, dressing the Isar metropolis in a white dress. Now, in the evening and on the night of the first of December, however, it will be dangerous in large parts of Bavaria: due to freezing rain.

The German Weather Service (DWD) has therefore issued several warnings. The entire south of Bavaria is currently the most affected. From a border a few kilometers south of Augsburg lies the warning area of the DWD, colored in orange: "There is an increased risk of slippery roads due to freezing rain," according to the official DWD warning, which is in place until 22 p.m. on Thursday evening (November 30). But it doesn't stop there for the time being. Also at night, until four o'clock in the night to Friday (1 December) the warning for slippery roads applies.

The DWD advises to avoid non-essential stays outdoors, as well as car journeys in particular. In addition to the flash ice and the black ice warning for the south of Bavaria, warnings of possible snowfall and frost are issued throughout Bavaria. However, according to the state of affairs on Thursday evening, the most dangerous weather prevails until 22 p.m. - here there is danger of "striking slippery roads", according to the statement.
