Almost a year after the coronation of the Argentine National Team in Qatar 2022, a very important auction was launched. A six-pack of shirts worn by Lionel Messi at the World Cup has been put up for auction and is expected to raise hefty figures. The certification will end on December 14.
The Argentine captain was able to fulfil his dream of being a world champion and was a fundamental part of the team led by Lionel Scaloni. The current Inter Miami player participated in all seven games and scored seven goals. Impressive numbers.
Being able to have a shirt worn by Messi is a privilege for few and being able to have one from the World Cup seems even utopian. However, the auction house Sotheby's took it upon itself to put six historic jackets on the market.

The shirts that are up for auction are those worn in the first half by Saudi Arabia and Mexico; and in the second half against Australia, the Netherlands, Croatia and France. In other words, the only missing piece is the one he wore in the victory against Poland, the violet one.
Sotheby's auction house exhibited Messi's jerseys.
Just a few hours after opening, thecurrent offer is $5.2 million. If the bid exceeds $10 million, Messi could break another record. The most expensive jersey ever sold at auction was the one worn by Michael Jordan with the Chicago Bulls during the NBA Finals in 1998. It was auctioned for $10.1 million last year.

Collectors and very wealthy people will surely want to have a catalogue of this magnitude. Undoubtedly, to be able to count on the shirts that Messi wore to fulfill his greatest desire is to have a piece of football history.
