The issue of social inclusion of people with fewer opportunities is one of the cross-cutting primary objectives of Erasmus+ 2021-2027, the Programme for Education, Training, Youth and Sport in Europe. To this end, on Monday 4 December 2023, the National Conference "Pathways to Inclusion to Foster Participation in Erasmus+" is organised in Rome. The event takes place in the Inapp Auditorium, Corso d'Italia 33, on the occasion of the International Day of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, on December 3rd.
The initiative is part of the transnational activities of the Erasmus+ Inclusion for newcomers Programme and is aimed in particular at those who have no experience in European planning, want to learn more about the Programme and share ideas for better cooperation and international mobility.
The event is the result of the collaboration between the three agencies that manage the Erasmus+ Programme in Italy: Indire, Inapp and the Italian Youth Agency.
The programme proposes a reflection on the theme of inclusion, starting from disability to explore the various aspects related to the obstacles that effectively preclude or limit participation in Erasmus+ mobility and cooperation activities. More than other programmes, Erasmus+ defines common targets and actions to be aimed especially at people with fewer opportunities, and proposes shared definitions and specific objectives covering all areas of learning.
The Agencies will present their respective national strategies, adopted on the recommendation of the European Commission, and the work plans on the enhancement of diversity, to make the Programme increasingly accessible and inclusive, with the aim of stimulating awareness and increasing the participation of new organisations and people with fewer opportunities.
The conference includes a plenary session in the morning and parallel sessions in the afternoon; with working groups in the fields of school education, vocational training, youth, sport and adult education. The groups will provide useful information for the presentation of new proposals, with a focus on short-term actions, which have simpler procedures. In addition, there will be experts from Erasmus+ projects, who will share good practices and experiences.
During the event, the facilitated access to the Erasmus+ Programme website www.erasmusplus.it will also be presented, developed with the aim of making it easier for disadvantaged people to acquire information.
