In an interview with the American news network CNN, Ra'am Party Chairman Mansour Abbas was asked about the damage caused by the Hamas terrorist organization in the murderous attack on October 7, and said that he strongly condemns any harm to innocent civilians, including women, children and the elderly. Abbas added that these are values that contradict Islam, humanity and religious beliefs.

However, Abbas stressed that we must not forget the political struggle of the Palestinians, despite the massacres of Hamas.
Any action against innocents is inhumane
"I need to be very clear: any action taken against innocent people, against women, children and adults, is inhumane, it goes against the values of Islam and we condemn it," Abbas said. It cannot be justified because it goes against every human and religious value."
The Ra'am chairman also noted that in retrospect, all the violent actions of the armed militias and terrorist organizations ostensibly intended to advance the Palestinian political struggle have always failed, and it was the civilians who paid the price.
"We cannot ignore the fact that there is indeed a political struggle here, but the action taken by the armed groups, and their decision to use violence to achieve their goal – looking back at the past it is always a failure."
Abbas called on the Palestinian terrorist organizations to lay down their arms and work with the PA to help promote a peace process and aspire to the establishment of a Palestinian state in the future. He also stressed that the future solution to the conflict lies in disarming Hamas.
