The fighting in Gaza continues for the 58th day, IDF forces are operating forcefully in the northern Gaza Strip - at sea, in the air and on land. Regular and reserve soldiers are also fighting on the northern border and return fire for every fire coming from Lebanon.

During the fighting in all arenas, the recruitment of fighters to the combat units of the November-December 2023 cycle was launched. In the coming weeks, thousands of recruits are expected to visit recruitment sites across the country and begin their military service. Among the recruits are men and women designated for service in significant combat positions in field units.
According to the IDF Spokesperson's Office, 60.38% of the new recruits are men, while 39.62% are women. Twelve percent of all women recruited for combat positions are NCOs who have asked to join the combat system
since the beginning of the war.

By the way, the most common names among male recruits are: Itai, Daniel, Uri, Ido and Amit. Among the women: Noa, Agam, Maya, Shira and Roni.
356 lone soldiers will enlist in the current cycle and 129 new immigrant soldiers. There are countries from which only one immigrant enlists: Austria, El Salvador, Dutch Antelians, Estonia, Ecuador, Bulgaria, Jamaica, Gibraltar, Denmark, Turkmenistan, Martinique, Norway, Singapur, French Polynesia, Portugal, Panama, Costa Rica, New Caledonia, Sweden and Yemen.
The Intelligence Corps will absorb the youngest recruit at the age of 17 and 11 months. The oldest, aged 28 years and 10 months, will serve in Techni.
Metula is the northernmost community that sends recruits to this cohort - 5 in number. Eilat, the southernmost one, sends 168 recruits.
