The prosecutor of the International Court of Justice in The Hague, Karim Khan, called on Sunday for the release of the abductees held by the Hamas terror organization in Gaza, saying there was no justification for holding them.

Khan, who visited Israel and communities attacked by Hamas terrorists near the Gaza Strip in recent days, said: "I call for the immediate and unconditional release of the abductees captured by Hamas and other terrorist organizations.

"There can be no justification for holding any abductees, especially in grave violation of all human principles, the abduction and detention of children. Abductees should not be used as human shields or bargaining chips," Khan added.
Khan toured the Rafah crossing last month, where he said the ICC intended to investigate "also" the war crimes "alleged to have occurred in Israel." However, most of his statement was devoted to the plight of Gaza's Arabs as a result of IDF operations.
