Defense Minister Yoav Galant held an operational assessment on the Gaza border on Monday afternoon, together with Southern Command Commander Maj. Gen. Yaron Finkelman, Maj. Gen. Itai Virov and 36th Division Commander Brig. Gen. Dado Bar Kalifa.
"The Golani fighters returned to Sejaiya in order to close the circle, this time they will not leave it until all the terrorist infrastructure that is there is eliminated," the minister said after observing the neighborhoods of Sejaiya and Jabaliya and receiving an overview of the battles taking place there and the movement of forces into the southern Gaza Strip.
"Three days after the renewal of fire, the IDF is at its best, I would like to express great appreciation for the forces that increased the pressure on the terrorists, thwarted battalion commander Sejaiya, a vile murderer, one day ago, and continue their operation throughout the entire sector," the minister said.
Galant added that "this operation that is happening now, in the northern Gaza Strip, will soon lead to the breaking of the entire area of Gaza City and the northern Gaza Strip," and that "at the same time, the IDF has begun to work in the southern Gaza Strip, the fate of the terrorists in the Hamas battalions there will be the same and worse than those of the north."
"We will continue until victory and until all the goals are achieved, the elimination of Hamas and the return of the abductees to the State of Israel," he concluded.
