Police forces and the Eastern Administration are on their way to carry out demolitions in Mitzpe Kedem, a settlement that was established a few weeks ago in Mount Hebron. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich demands an end to the destruction.
In the settlement, located near 'Asahel, live two families and a nucleus of youths, and a third family finishes building its home.

In Smotrich's letter to Maj. Gen. Ghassan Alyan, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, he wrote: "In light of the state of war in which we find ourselves, I have announced that I do not approve the implementation of enforcement. This morning I was informed that the OC has decided to define enforcement as a security necessity and that he intends to implement enforcement even without the approval of the Minister of Defense." He added that the case would be brought to the ministers for a decision and that he instructed not to carry out the enforcement until a discussion was held between them.
