More than a year since her brother passed away, May Schechter opened up in a heartbreaking story about life since his death • "Every day I think what I wouldn't give to hold your hand again, but life goes on"

"Wedding at First Sight" star May Schechter woke up Thursday morning with a burst of longing for her brother Ben, who died last year at the age of just 30 after contracting leukemia.

She shared the pain she felt on her Instagram account, where she has 36,<> followers, as well as her desire to regain her brother's guiding touch, while sharing the disadvantage that has accompanied her at all stages of her life – and how she coped with his absence more than a year since he passed away.

"Every day I think about what I wouldn't give to hold your hand again and how many more years I have to live without holding your hand," Schechter shared. "Life goes on. I laugh more, sometimes cry more and sometimes less. I'm excited about things that are disproportionate and sometimes as proportional as possible."

Schechter, a nurse, also spoke about the moments when the happiness of families who get to bring new life is sadly mixed with her own private. "Your absence, Benchuk, is felt in my every breath, in every thought. Every time a mother's husband is called a son, every time the mothers say that a son will be their child's name, every moment I am alone with myself, every moment of sadness. It is simply incomprehensible and will not be perceived that you are not here anymore," she concluded.

In another story Shechter published a few hours earlier, she chose to quote from "Now Tov," singer Gilad Segev's song he wrote about his late brother Sharon, who was killed during IDF training, against the background of a smiling picture of Ben holding three colorful balloons in his hands.
