The Eisenkot family is a very special family. Eisenkot's nephew was moderately wounded by a mortar shell a few days ago. His sister's son, while he was at Soroka Hospital for an internship, received him at the hospital.

Another member of Gadi Eisenkot's family is the late Rabbi Naaran Eshhar, the husband of Eisenkot's wife's niece. Eshhar, 33, is survived by his wife and two children. He was a tank commander in the 71st Battalion, 188th Brigade (Lightning Formation). During operational activity, Naran's tank overturned, his teammate was killed and Na'ran was mortally wounded.
