Hannover - Hannover 96 overcame a 2-0 deficit in the second home game in a row in the promotion race of the 2nd Bundesliga. In the 2-2 (0-1) draw against Karlsruher SC on Friday evening, the new sixth-placed team repeated the feat of strength from the game against Hertha BSC (2-2).

Nevertheless, the 96ers are in danger of losing touch with the promotion places more and more. Of the last six games in the second division, they have only won the Lower Saxony derby against arch-rivals Eintracht Braunschweig.

Two former internationals initially shaped this game: Hannover's Marcel Halstenberg scored an own goal in the eleventh minute. Karlsruhe's Lars Stindl increased the lead to 2-0 shortly after the break (53rd). Andreas Voglsammer brought the 96ers back into the game in the 72nd minute. The deserved equaliser was scored by Japan's Sei Muroya in the first minute of stoppage time.
