Hannover 96 also showed morale against Karlsruhe in the promotion race. Nevertheless, the gap to the top threatens to get bigger and bigger.
Hannover - Hannover 96 overcame a 2-0 deficit in the second home game in a row in the promotion race of the 2nd Bundesliga. In the 2-2 (0-1) draw against Karlsruher SC on Friday evening, the new sixth-placed team repeated the feat of strength from the game against Hertha BSC (2-2).
Nevertheless, the 96ers are in danger of losing touch with the promotion places more and more. Of the last six games in the second division, they have only won the Lower Saxony derby against arch-rivals Eintracht Braunschweig.
Two former internationals initially shaped this game: Hannover's Marcel Halstenberg scored an own goal in the eleventh minute. Karlsruhe's Lars Stindl increased the lead to 2-0 shortly after the break (53rd). Andreas Voglsammer brought the 96ers back into the game in the 72nd minute. The deserved equaliser was scored by Japan's Sei Muroya in the first minute of stoppage time.
Hannover dominated the game most of the time, but only became really pressing and dangerous in the last 20 minutes. Even before the equaliser, Christopher Scott hit the crossbar in the 80th minute with a beautiful long-range shot. Dpa
