Intense fighting in the southern Gaza Strip
Intense urban fighting is raging in and around the Gaza Strip's largest cities on Friday, two months after Hamas' bloody attack on Israel and the start of a war whose death toll continues to rise.
After an initial phase of its ground offensive against Hamas concentrated in northern Gaza, the army this week extended its operations to the south, where nearly two million civilians are now trapped, cornered in increasingly small territory. On the ground, Israeli soldiers, backed by airstrikes, clashed with Hamas fighters on Thursday in Khan Younis, the largest city in the south that has become the epicenter of the war, as well as in the north, in Gaza City and the nearby area of Jabaliya.

Israeli TV broadcasts videos of Palestinian prisoners in their underwear in Gaza
Israeli television channels on Thursday aired videos showing dozens of Palestinians in their underwear, blindfolded, guarding Israeli soldiers in the Gaza Strip, sparking controversy on social media.
Among the men arrested were witnesses, journalists and relatives recognized reporter Diaa Al-Kahlout, the Gaza correspondent for The New Arab media outlet.
The London-based news site reported that "the Israeli occupation has arrested dozens of Gazans, including The New Arab's correspondent in the Gaza Strip," on X (formerly Twitter).

Civilian killed on Lebanese border: Netanyahu warns Hezbollah
Benjamin Netanyahu has warned Hezbollah against escalating fighting after an Israeli was killed by a guided missile attack from Lebanon. On a visit to northern Israel on Thursday, the Israeli prime minister "suggested to our enemies to be careful, because if Hezbollah chooses to start an all-out war, it will turn Beirut and southern Lebanon, not far from here, into Gaza and Khan Younis."
