And the winner... is not a Frenchman. While Euromillions was up for grabs on Friday for the biggest sum in its history, €240 million, the jackpot was finally won on Friday after two last draws without a winner. The new millionaire, whose nationality has not been revealed, has therefore ticked the numbers 17, 30, 42, 48, 50 and the stars 4 and 8, announced the Française des Jeux.
So far, the largest amount in the European lottery, of €230 million, was won in the UK in July 2022. In France, it was a Tahitian woman who pocketed in October 2021, the largest sum ever won in France: 220 million euros.
