London will host The Best FIFA Football Awards, next Monday, January 15, FIFA announced this Friday, an event that will award, among other categories, the best player in the world, a distinction for which Lionel Messi - winner of the last edition - and Julián Álvarez compete. The UK capital has already hosted the event in 2016 and 2017, so the upcoming awards ceremony will be the third time it will host the ceremony.
Among the nominees for the best player, there are Messi for his work at PSG, Inter Miami and the Argentine National Team and striker Julián Álvarez for his performance especially at Manchester City, with which he won the treble "(Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup).
In the previous edition that took place in Paris, Messi won the award as best player; Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez and coach Lionel Scaloni, all for their performance in the Argentine National Team that was proclaimed champion of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

The nominees for the eighth edition of The Best FIFA Football Awards were announced last September, after an international jury selected three finalists for each category
The jury was made up of coaches, national team captains, specialist journalists and fans who voted on FIFA's official website.
Specifically, more than one million followers from all over the world have cast their votes.
FIFA will announce the finalists for the main categories in the coming weeks.
At the ceremony, the following eleven prizes will be presented:
