A Wall Street Journal poll reveals that President Biden's political standing is at the weakest point of his presidency. Voters gave him the lowest performance scores, preferring his Republican challenger, Donald Trump.

Biden lags behind Trump by 4 percentage points, 43% to 47%, in a hypothetical vote with only those two candidates. Trump's lead expands to 6 percent (37 percent vs. 31 percent), with five potential contenders added to the mix. They receive a combined 17% support, with independent-Democratic candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. receiving 8% support.
Although the poll shows that Biden's standing is at its weakest, a significant portion of the polls are Democratic-leaning groups that may still support Biden on Election Day. Only 23% of voters say Biden's policies have helped them personally, while 53% say they have been hurt by the president's agenda. By contrast, about half of voters say Trump's policies when he was president helped them personally, more than 37% who say they have been hurt.
About 37% are satisfied with President Biden's performance, while
61% view his overall image in an unfavorable light, Biden.
. The findings come as a surprise to Democrats, some of whom have expressed open concern about the 81-year-old president's resilience and increasingly warned about the potential return of the 77-year-old Trump.
