He was survived by his wife, Esther, and six children - Geffen, Maayan, Noam, Hillel, David and Yael. The couple was even expecting a seventh child.
Ilani grew up in Mitzpe Jericho, studied at the Neve Shmuel Yeshiva High School, which is its sixth casualty in the war. Afterwards, he continued his studies at the Yeshiva HaSeder in Yeruham, which, as stated, is the sixth graduate of which was killed in the "Iron Swords" war.
