He stuffs a big turquoise bag with dozens of small packages. The postman then goes to load up his yellow van. "Today, I have 123 parcels to deliver," says the man in full effort. But it can go up to 200. Christmas is fast approaching, and the teams at La Poste are in a hurry with the astronomical quantities of packages that arrive every morning.

On Tuesday 12 December, in the multi-flow platform of La Poste located at the Alata technology park in Creil (Oise), one of the two in the department, nearly 20,000 parcels were processed and transited to the mailboxes, compared to the usual 12,000 to 13,000. Parcels of all shapes and sizes, which each agent must sort and order. To cope with the increase in activity at the end of the year, a dozen seasonal workers have come to support the hundred or so permanent employees.
