A 5th grade student threatened her English teacher with a knife shortly before 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the Hautes-Ourmes middle school in Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine). "She was subdued in one of the corridors by adults from the school and arrested by the Rennes police," the school said in a message to parents. "There are no injuries."
According to our information, the teenager aged "11 or 12" had arrived at the school at the start of the school year in September 2023. Class-in-class middle school students were asked to close their classroom doors after someone yelled that there was a knife. When asked, the management of the school - the only REP+ classified college in Rennes, which has major social difficulties - did not wish to communicate for the time being. Police are still on site.
