Sergeant Eran Aloni, who survived the surprise attack carried out by Hamas terrorists on October 7 at a Nova party held near Kibbutz Re'im near the Gaza Strip, is among the soldiers killed Tuesday night in the disaster in Sejaiya, during an IDF operation in the Gaza Strip.
Aloni's father, Lachish Special Operations Unit Commander Lieutenant General Doron Aloni, was injured on the day of the massacre when he left his home in Ofakim to rescue young people who participated in the party, including his son, Eran. His best friend, J.R. Davidov, commander of the Rahat station, was killed before his eyes during the exchange of fire with the terrorists.

Itzik Danino, mayor of Ofakim, eulogized Aloni: "He was handsome, wise and a true leader who loved his friends and surrounded him with love. He was a member of the Israel National Trail group and hiked throughout his youth with his friends on the Israel Trails, and even volunteered regularly with great love."
Danino added: "Eran aspired to be a fighter and talked about it a lot. He was drafted into the Golani Brigade as he wanted, to the 51st Battalion as a combat medic, and fought in Gaza alongside his comrades, until he was caught up in the battle in which he fell. Our hearts are with the dear Aloni family, mother Gani and father Superintendent Doron Aloni, commander of the Lachish Special Operations Unit, who in the events of October 7 was among the first to go face to face with terrorists who massacred young people at the nature party in Re'im."
Eran's funeral will take place today at 15:00 PM in the military section of the Beer Sheva cemetery.
