A video released Wednesday night (Wednesday and Thursday) shows IDF soldiers singing the Shema in a mosque in Jenin during an activity. After the video was published, the IDF decided to keep the soldiers away from operational activity.

The IDF responded: "After receiving the videos and an initial examination of the incident by the commanders, the behavior of the fighters in the videos is serious and completely contrary to IDF values, the soldiers will be disciplined accordingly."
Following the IDF's announcement of its intention to discipline soldiers, Minister Bar-Gvir responded: "There is no place for disciplinary proceedings against fighters who sacrifice their lives for the people of Israel in the midst of the inferno in Jenin, and their only sin is reciting the Shema in a place that has become one of the main centers of terror against Israel. We must give our wonderful fighters full backing and not deal with disciplinary proceedings in matters that should not concern the IDF, certainly not during wartime."
