The war turned our shared building into a kind of kibbutz - with the sharing of foods • Here are five great recipes we collected between floors

The war created a lot of changes. Among other things, a new meaning and a new role was created for the word neighbor. Our building has neighbors of all kinds, ages, ethnicities and professions. During the war, I met them not just in the elevator, but actually in action. There is a neighbor who initiated a first aid course for the whole building in the lobby, and a neighbor who asked in the WhatsApp group if she could help anyone. There is a neighbor who volunteered for the neighborhood's alert unit and updates us on the situation.

And so, by necessity, our building became a kind of small kibbutz. Even if we're not family, or don't really know each other, we know we're there for each other. Suddenly, the social framework of the residential building and the neighbors behind the closed doors became significant.
