Today (Friday), Eden Zakaria, whose body was returned to Israel in a rescue operation by IDF forces, will be laid to rest.
She was abducted for two months after being taken by Hamas terrorists to the Gaza Strip on October 7. Last Tuesday, her family received the news of her murder.
Her mother, Orin Zach-Gantz, fought for two months to get every bit of information possible about her. "I sent a message to Eden who replied: 'I'm in Ofakim, on the way home, there's a heavy barrage on us. I asked if she was hiding. She didn't answer me, I called her, and then she started screaming: 'We're being shot.'"
Even before the news, she told her daughter that the smile at Eden was something that could not be missed. "She would write down every day grateful for what she had — grateful for her job, her parents, her friends. It is impossible without her in this world. It's too good."
