Red Sea War: Iranian Axis Closes Egypt: The world's largest shipping company, the Danish Maersk Company, announced this evening that it is suspending the passage of all its ships through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, the Suez Canal and the Red Sea, following a series of attacks on ships belonging to the Houthi rebels from Yemen.

"Following the incident in which the Maersk Gibraltar ship was almost hit yesterday, and another attack on a container ship today, we have instructed all Maersk ships en route to the Bab el-Mendes Strait to halt their progress until further notice," the company said in a statement.

Earlier today, a ship carrying the Liberian flag was hit by a missile fired by Yemen's Houthi rebels, the Associated Press reported. In addition, at least three additional incidents were reported by various sources, and at this stage it is unclear whether additional ships were damaged or reported distress.

According to the report, cited by a senior US administration official, the ship that was attacked was a container ship called Al-Jerash flying the Liberian flag. The ship made its way towards the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

The British Maritime Transport Organization said in a statement that an unidentified object hit the ship while it was sailing in the Red Sea and a fire broke out on the ship's deck. It was also reported that at this stage there are no known casualties on board.

Yesterday, another ship was attacked near the strait but there were no casualties in the attack, the ship turned and turned towards the Indian Ocean. The Houthi attacks on maritime traffic in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait were openly intended to stop vessel traffic to and from Israel, using the Red Sea and the Suez Canal as shipping routes.
