Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu read out at the start of the Cabinet meeting on Sunday a letter he received from families of those killed in battle in the Gaza Strip. The families wrote to the prime minister: "The people are strong and their opinion is strong, you have a mandate to fight, you have no mandate to stop in the middle." After reading the letter, Netanyahu said: "This is the will of the fallen and this is our obligation." "I would like to return to you the will of the fallen, we will achieve all our goals: the elimination of Hamas, the return of all our abductees and to make Gaza not a focal point that will endanger Israel," the Prime Minister added. The letter Netanyahu read was sent by a new forum of bereaved families of fallen soldiers of Operation Iron Swords, which was recently established under the name "Forum of Heroism."

The person who distributed the announcement this morning of the new "heroism" forum was Eran Schwartz, spokesman for the right-wing organization Honenu. Schwartz was also involved in establishing the Tikvah Forum – of families of abductees and missing persons – which operates separately from the central headquarters of the families of abductees and missing persons and disseminates various messages from them.
Last night, for example, while the families of the abductees demonstrated outside the Kirya, the Tikvah Forum sent a letter to the Prime Minister and the War Cabinet, warning that the pressure and demonstrations would raise the price of any future deal and distance the possibility of releasing hostages. Both the Forum of Heroism and the Forum of Hope disseminate similar messages of support for the government and calls for continued fighting until the elimination of Hamas and until victory.
