The suspects, all minors between the ages of 13 and 15, residents of the city, extorted local youths from wealthy families with threats and assault on several occasions and took tens of thousands of shekels from them. The investigation revealed that the suspects demanded protection from students from affluent families in order to access the bathroom. The police searched their homes and seized evidence and artifacts linking them to the crime.
