Adopt a sheep or a goat, but also a beehive, wheat fields, rows of grapes in the heart of Sardinia. A few months after the launch of the project, which was created to enhance local productions, the requests that have arrived on the "Mannos - From the Land of Longevity" platform are already many and come 50% from Sardinia and the rest from Italy and abroad, led by Germany, Ireland and Belgium.
And some of them are also special. "This is the case of an adoption of beehives by a company for its employees, as a thank you for their commitment, a gesture that was then reciprocated by the workers themselves towards the managers - says Maria Giovanna Carta, creator of the project and business consultant originally from Olbia - We also had a request as a wedding gift".
With virtual and long-distance adoption, on the one hand, the activity of the farmer or breeder during the year is supported - which is documented and reported periodically - and on the other hand, they receive their special stocks of products directly from the land. Each adoption is marked with a label with its name on the collar of the sheep or goat, as well as affixed to the 'adopted' hive. The adoptive parent can also visit his 'corner' of Sardinia and get to know the producer.
Mannos also offers related experiences and immersive visits to farms to participate live and experience some of the activities during the main stages of production.
For example, it is possible to participate in milking and cheese-making, while from February it will be possible to visit the beehives, participate in the milling of wheat and from March it will be possible to take part in the pruning of the vines in the vineyards of Mandrolisai in Atzara.
"With Mannos we want to promote a healthy and genuine lifestyle, in the footsteps of our ancestors," explains the entrepreneur, "while supporting small and young producers who have accepted the challenge of bringing the family business into the future or investing in agriculture."
