Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appealed to US President Joe Biden at the start of the war in Gaza, asking him to pressure Egyptian President el-Sisi to give territory from his country for the transfer of Palestinian refugees from Gaza, The Washington Post reported Thursday night.

According to the report, Netanyahu's request was rejected out of hand. Therefore, Netanyahu then turned to French President Emmanuel Macron as well as British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Meanwhile, The New York Times reported that US President Biden is preparing to sell advanced offensive weapons to Saudi Arabia, despite opposition from congressional sources to the move.
Biden's move comes at a time when Riyadh is trying to reach a permanent ceasefire agreement with the Houthis in Yemen, but fears that talks with them will collapse due to Israel's war in Gaza, which they say could expand into an all-out regional war.
