Meteo-Tech, a forecasting company, issued a special warning on Thursday ahead of the amount of rain expected to fall over the weekend, starting overnight through Sunday. According to the warning, between 40 and 80 mm of rain is expected during the winter weekend, and widespread flooding is feared in low-lying areas, the northern coastal plain and the Sharon.

The storm is also expected to manifest itself in strong wind gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour and high to stormy waves in the Mediterranean Sea – which are expected to peak at five meters.
