Tottenham beat Everton 2-1 on matchday 18 of the Premier League. However, this result would not have been possible without the stellar performance of Cuti Romero who, before retiring with a discomfort, had a save that went viral.
6 minutes into the match, with a team still tactically disorganized, the defender of the Argentine National Team - who suffered a stomp as soon as he entered the field - prevented what could have been the opponent's first goal.
For his great performance, the centre-back was quickly rewarded with goals: Richarlison and Son Heung-Min shouldered the match and, with less than 15 minutes apart, scored the two goals that finally sealed the victory for Spurs.
Although he was a star during the first half and prevented a key goal, Cuti Romero was unable to finish the game on the pitch: he was replaced due to a muscle discomfort at half-time and missed the last 45 minutes of the match, where Tottenham felt his loss and was exposed in defence.

With the win over Everton, Tottenham finished fourth in the Premier League standings with 36 points, only behind Manchester City, Aston Villa and Liverpool, and two ahead of Manchester City, who owe their game to having traveled to Saudi Arabia, where they were crowned Club World Cup champions.
On the other hand, the visiting team sank even deeper with the defeat: they finished in 16th place out of 20 and are at serious risk of relegation if they fail to make a comeback in the next few games.
