The choirs and music groups of the Korbinian-Aigner-Gymnasium Erding showed their skills at the Christmas concert.

Erding – The Christmas concerts at the Korbinian-Aigner-Gymnasium (KAG) in Erding are very popular. It was the same this year. "Half an hour before the start of the event, there were hardly any seats left in the auditorium," said headmistress Andrea Hafner. This shows once again how important this concert has become for the school community and beyond, according to a press release from the school.

The Young Big Band and the Lower School Choir of the KAG skilfully put the audience in the mood for Christmas themes, Orchestra I and the CHORyphäen performed well-known and lesser-known Christmas melodies. The time for the renovations on the stage was bridged with the presentation of introductory texts that made you think – for example "Wishes of a Child" or "The Christ Child at the Tax Office". On the big screen, you could also marvel at works from art lessons via slide show.

Singing together was not neglected either: Together with the big band, everyone sang along to the song "Zu Bethlehem geboren" (Born to Bethlehem). Previously, the audience had been invited to support the Young Big Band. It was allowed to intonate "Ho, ho, ho" in the right places, which was very well received.

"A highlight of the evening was once again the performance of the percussion group, which performed a Mozart melody in an unusual way," Hafner emphasized. And so "A Little Night Music" became "A Little Boomwhackers". The students skilfully performed Mozart's most famous melody with differently tuned sticks and earned great applause for it.

Before the concluding "Jingle Bells" of the big band, which was performed with a lot of verve, the parents' councillors, who had left office after many years of service, were bid farewell with great thanks for their commitment and applause. Many visitors, including former students, stayed in the auditorium after the end of the concert to chat and let the successful evening come to an end.
