Following reports on the tension between Haniyeh and Sinwar, sources in the Hamas terrorist organization told the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar that "there are no disagreements in the Hamas leadership and there is a consensus on not giving up on [the demand for] a ceasefire."

According to the sources, "all the talk about disagreements between the internal and external leaderships [i.e. Sinwar and the Qatari political bureau] is baseless."
It was also reported that every case of disagreement was dealt with after the Hamas leadership abroad received assurance regarding the state of the forces on the ground in Gaza. According to the report, this was after the military and political leadership in the Gaza Strip (Sinwar and Deif) sent a message to the leadership abroad (Haniyeh) according to which the terrorist organization's capabilities on the ground are still well established and that it is capable of surviving for a long period of time and is "in no hurry."
