Penzberg - Instead of sending out customer gifts, the Rundschau Penzberg donated the intended money this year: 500 euros went to the Don Bosco youth center
The Don Bosco Youth Centre is an important part of the youth work in Penzberg. For this reason, the Gelber Blatt/Die Rundschau für Penzberg is supporting the curative education facility in Steigenberg with a donation of 500 euros this year. The donation was handed over by branch manager Manuela Hafeneder to facility manager Carolin Kirchner.
The sum came together because the branch did not give out customer gifts at Christmas time again this year. "We want to use the money for a local good cause," says Hafeneder – "the youth centre is doing important work in the region."
Residents between the ages of three and 21
The facility on Knappenstraße takes care of children and young people in all walks of life. Since 2022, the Salesians of Don Bosco have been the sponsor. The former sponsoring association became an extremely active support association. The 46 employees currently take care of 42 residents between the ages of three and 21. There are five residential groups: three children's groups and two youth groups (one of which is an external group).
Facility manager Kirchner was pleased with the support of the Yellow Sheet. After all, the large-scale renovation of the aging premises in Steigenberg requires financial resources. A first step has been taken: the rooms for a residential group are completely finished, reports Kirchner. "It's all bright and friendly." The new "jungle land" is also "super used". In January, the rooms of the next group are to continue, and the move is planned for summer.
