Very active on social networks, in the run-up to Christmas Eve Javier Milei got into a fight with an actor who died three years ago. The president came out at the crossroads of Hugo Arana's old criticisms of the spillover theory. "He repeated phrases full of envy, hatred and resentment," the libertarian said of the comedian, who died on October 11, 2020.
This was issued against the opinions that Arana expressed on May 14, 2017 on the program "Debo Decir", in a broadcast that he shared with the then Minister of Economy Nicolás Dujovne.
"This spillover theory seems to me to be one of the most serious insults. I'm at home eating and I call the little boy on the street. Crumbs are falling and he can eat. Or expect me to throw the remains in the trash and eat there," he described his interpretation.
"That spill seems to me a humiliation, a deep daughter-in-a-. What is that? For there to be billionaires there have to be thousands and thousands of children who are malnourished, sick and dumped in polluted waters," he continued, glancing occasionally at Dujovne, who was sitting across from him.

He pointed out that in "free enterprise capitalism" exchanges are "voluntary," so spillovers would be beneficial to both parties. Although he later remarked that, in a context of efficiency, "there is no spillover."
"Hugo Arana did not have the slightest idea about the subjective theory of value and repeated phrases full of envy, hatred and resentment typical of the left based on the obsolete labor theory of value," he continued in the harshest section of his publication.

And he added: "His thing was to be a great actor but it was not even close to being an economist, unlike those who spread this nonsense from the left."
Finally, he resorted to a repeated argument. He said Arana's explanation leads to "the socialist solution." And he concluded: "They could start by donating ALL their goods and ALL their income to get started, which would be good for us since there is NO MONEY."
