Ella, daughter of kidnapped Ohad Ben Ami, cries out his pain in the cold, barefoot in short clothes/Down the families;
Ohad Ben Ami, who was abducted from Kibbutz Be'eri on October 7, will mark his 55th birthday today while in captivity in Gaza. This evening (Sunday), his family will celebrate for him at the Abductees Square in Tel Aviv. "A fan would be embarrassed if he knew people were invited to celebrate him, he would smile sheepishly and say, 'You don't have to.' But now we need everyone's strength to bring him home, to feel our joy and maybe it will reach him. We will sing, eat, bless and hug. Come celebrate with us," they exclaimed.
"My beloved fans, I woke up to a rainy morning. Heaven is crying with me that you're not here yet," his wife Raz Ben Ami, who was kidnapped with him from their home on the kibbutz and released in the abductee deal, wrote on Instagram. "Your birthday, which we always celebrate in one of Europe's cities with Christmas lights and a bright atmosphere everywhere. Unfortunately, today you are in a dark place where there is no light and no joy. Just war and sadness for people who are no longer alive."
Ben-Ami turned to her lover: "I reserve the birthday greeting only for you when you return to us. Surely tomorrow or the day after tomorrow I can wish her to you personally. After all, we are an optimistic family that believes only in the good, that it will be good. I love you and look forward to your return as soon as possible."

"And if anyone hears me up there," she wished, "get my fan back as soon as possible because I can't anymore. And sure he can't either. It's hard, it's hard physically, it's hard mentally. It's not something a human being can deal with for such a long time."
Raz's birthday was on November 17, when she was still in Hamas captivity. That same day, her daughters organized a "birthday party" in the hostage square that included a mass launching of pink balloons, and a "birthday table" full of cakes for Raz.
"My only uncle, who is always there when needed, always comes to anything he knows is important. Always laughing and funny," wrote Roni Ben-Ami, Ohad's niece. "In every meeting there is always a soul talk, in which he advises me and makes me move forward with something else in life that I probably hadn't thought of. He calls me 'Ronaldo' and all I'm waiting for is to hear him call me that. Waiting for us to sit around the table again and eat delicious foods. We arranged it the day before October 7th and I'm waiting for us to fulfill. Fan, we are strong for you and waiting for you. The whole family is more united than ever. Know it will make you happy. We miss you painfully and are waiting for you."
