A work by Italian street artist andactivist Laika featuring a same-sex-parent Nativity Scene withtwo Virgin Marys appeared on Sunday on the Rome headquarters ofthe conservative Pro-Vita & Famiglia (Pro-Life and Family)association.
The work, which has Jesus wrapped in a rainbow-flag blanket, wason a poster than was pasted into the shutters of the offices ofthe association, which campaigns against abortion and same-sexparents.
Laika also put up a poster showing Saint Joseph working as acarpenter on the 'coffin of the patriarchy'.
The street artist's provocative act comes after Pro-Vita &Famiglia joined a wave of outrage from conservative quarters ata Nativity Scene in a church in the southern town ofCapocastello di Mercogliano that also has Jesus with twomothers.
The association said this was dangerous and blasphemous andlaunched a petition calling on the bishop of Avellino to takeaction.
