This is a batch of vacuum-packed, machine-sliced Norwegian smoked salmon in 1 kg format and from SAS Le Fumoir. Sold by wholesalers, it was distributed in supermarkets throughout France. The brands concerned are not specified by Rappel Conso. These products have been on the market since December 5, with a use-by date of January 1, 2024.

Incubation time up to eight weeks
They may contain a bacterium of the Listeria family, Listeria monocytogenes, which is responsible for a disease, listeriosis. A rare disease, which can be serious, and whose incubation period can be up to eight weeks, says Rappel Conso. In France, there are "about 5 to 6 cases per million inhabitants per year, or about 400 cases each year," says the Ministry of Agriculture on its website.
If you still have any of the products in the affected batch in your refrigerator, you should not consume it under any circumstances. The best solution is to throw it away or bring it back to the store, to benefit from an exchange. On the other hand, if you have consumed a potentially infected product, and you suffer from fever and/or headaches, as well as body aches, you should consult your doctor and report this consumption, recommends Rappel Conso. "Severe forms with neurological complications and maternal or fetal damage in pregnant women can also sometimes occur. Pregnant women as well as immunocompromised people and the elderly should be particularly attentive to these symptoms," the government platform adds.
