In March of this year, Taylor Swift embarked on a tour, the Eras Tour, which is scheduled to end only in December 2024 after 150 shows worldwide. The highly publicized column, one of the reasons Swift was voted Persona of the Year by Time magazine, has garnered unprecedented demand, and according to reports abroad, the star's earnings have exceeded $34 billion to date, making the Eras Tour officially the highest-grossing tour of all time. During Swift's time on the road with the show, various moments from her performances have gone viral as fans on social media analyze every moment of blink or miss, including her interactions with her musicians and dancers.

Recently, X Network (formerly Twitter) reposted a TikTok video edited by a fan to show what the star hears in a tight headset as she performs her hits on stage. In the one-minute video, Swift performs the electropop hit "Cruel Summer" from her album Lover at one of her shows, with a monotonous beat constantly playing in the background, indicating the rhythm at which she needs to sing the lyrics. "You're listening to a monitor in Taylor's ear during Cruel Summer," the caption read, alongside the video, which actually reflected what Swift and other artists hear during live performances in front of large audiences. And you should know, that Taylor Swift's appearance on this tour lasts three and a half hours! The video went viral and has so far been viewed over 2.5 million times.

WDYM Taylor spends OVER 3 HOURS with a MONITOR producing a TICKING SOUND INSIDE her EAR?!??!?

the way I'd pull out a Van Gogh in the middle of the stage and cut my mf ear off after 1 hour show time... pic.twitter.com/OgOrjJKQih

Many found it hard to believe that the star had to deal with the unbearable ticking. Things like, "What do you mean, Taylor spends over three hours with a monitor that produces a sweet sound inside her ear?!??!? were often said. There were those who argued that if he were in the singer's place he would "make himself a Van Gogh", that is, cut off the ear (as the tormented painter did). But there were also quite a few commentary responses like: "I know it helps her keep up thank you, I know what it is." But most of the responses expressed participation in sorrow and shock.

Taylor Swift's ear monitor surfaced on social media back in the summer, when the device briefly failed during a performance of her teen hit Love Story. Swift reacted quickly while performing the song, looking at the sound technician and patting her ear to let him know the problem. As the song went on, she looked for clues from her bassist, Israeli Amos Heller, while keeping an eye on its timing. When he realized the situation, he nodded his head to signal when she should sing. The cooperation worked great and she did everything just in time. So maybe her Israeli bodyguard has returned to Israel to fight Hamas, but another Israeli is protecting her from embarrassing technical mishaps.
