He was saved at the last minute as flames ravaged a pavilion. A man was fortunately found in time by the firefighters this Sunday morning, after the outbreak of a violent fire in the pavilion where he was staying, in Saint-Prix (Val-d'Oise).
It was around 7 a.m. when emergency services were called to Maignan-Larivière Street, a road that goes up to the Montmorency forest. When they arrived, they found a detached house already fully engulfed in flames.
The firefighters immediately went into action to control the fire, but unfortunately with very little information to coordinate their intervention. They don't know yet, at that time, if there are people inside. Three lances will be deployed, one used in the air from the top of a ladder.
The sixty-year-old hospitalized in Garches in a serious condition
At the same time, a search was carried out and the firefighters discovered an inanimate man on the floor of one of the rooms. The victim is in cardiopulmonary arrest. But the firefighters immediately provided him with resuscitation care, soon assisted by the Smur teams.
And this early treatment will allow his vital functions to be restored. The 64-year-old man was evacuated to the hospital in Garches (Hauts-de-Seine) in a very critical condition. His prognosis was still in jeopardy when he was hospitalized.
In total, it took more than six hours of intervention to bring the fire under control. The firefighters used a drone to coordinate their action in order to avoid any spread in this delicate area, the top of Saint-Prix, which is both urbanized and very close to the forest.
