Even before the outbreak of the war, many families in Israel living in homes without a safe room were looking for protective solutions. Against the background of the war and the firing of thousands of rockets from Gaza into Israel, this need has become acute and is now being addressed, albeit partially, in the form of the safe room – a portable safe room that is easy to install.
Behind the exclusive development is the Israeli real estate company Ackerstein, which recently received approval from the Home Front Command to market to the Israeli market the safe room intended for those living in ground houses or detached buildings.

The great advantage of the safe room is that its location in the yard of the house does not require infrastructure work or preparation in the field. It comes in a net size of 5 square meters and can accommodate up to 10 people, in accordance with Home Front Command guidelines that instruct an area of half square meters per person. Its consumer price will be about NIS 85,7.
Ackerstein reports a significant surge in interest and demand for safe rooms among the general population in Israel, including in the center of the country and in northern settlements. Moreover, the company says that in the wake of the events of October <>, there is widespread interest in safe rooms with a door that can be locked from the inside. Another high demand for protected spaces comes from institutional bodies seeking to provide citizens with a safe and secure space.
"We began planning and developing the safe room even before the war," says Ehud Danoch, CEO of the Ackerstein Group. "However, now, with the understanding that there is a vital and real need for a safe room that can be easily and quickly located in unprotected single-family homes, we have accelerated the pace of development and production of the safe room and we are starting production of it in the near future in large quantities. Unlike the supply of a standard safe room, which takes at least two months, the supply of the safe room will be immediate. This is a quick and relatively inexpensive solution, which provides protection in the same way as a regular safe room."
