A meeting of the Likud faction convened on Monday afternoon against the background of the continuation of the campaign in the north and south. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who had earlier visited a reserve brigade inside the Gaza Strip, said during the meeting: "I am returning now from Gaza. Everyone asked me for only one thing: not to stop and move on to the end.
"Newspapers and studios say we're stopping. They also said that we would stop after the first plan for the release of our hostages – and we continued. So we don't stop, we keep fighting, and we will intensify the fighting in the coming days. It will be a long battle and it is not close to ending. We need patience, cohesion, unity and stickiness to the task."
Netanyahu also said that he is working to bring about the voluntary migration of Gazans to other countries: "Our problem is the countries that are willing to absorb - we are working on it."
The Prime Minister responded to MK Danon, who said, "The world is already discussing the possibilities of voluntary immigration. Canada's immigration minister made the remarks publicly, as did Nikki Haley. We must establish a team of the State of Israel to deal with this issue and make sure that those who want to leave Gaza for a third country can do so. This needs to be regulated. This is strategically important for the day after the war." Netanyahu did not contradict Danon's remarks and even said that "it is being worked on."
Danon and MK Ram Ben-Barak (Yesh Atid) put the possibility of voluntary immigration on the international agenda in an article they published in The Wall Street Journal.
MK Tali Gottlieb referred to the remarks made by the head of the Strategy and Third Circle, Maj. Gen. Eliezer Toledano, who conducted a security review at the cabinet meeting, and noted that "the army will have to manage an arms economy." Gultalib said, among other things, at the faction meeting: "There is a dramatic reduction in artillery from the air in the southern Gaza Strip. The IDF Spokesperson was briefed that it was a complete lie that there were no armaments. We must control the picture of victory, conquer and settle the northern Gaza Strip."
