A senior Iranian Revolutionary Guards official, Radi Mousavi, was assassinated by the IDF on Monday in an airstrike in the heart of Damascus, Syria. What began as a report in the Arab world turned faster than expected into a report confirmed by Iran's Tasnim News Agency, which is close to the Iranian regime.

According to details published by the Al-Mayadeen network, which is known to be close to Hezbollah, Mousavi served as one of the veteran advisors of the Revolutionary Guards in Syria and is considered a close associate of Qassem Suleimani, former commander of the Quds Force, which is responsible for the Iranian Revolutionary Guards' activities outside Iran.
Suleimani was killed by the US military in 2020, with the help of Israeli intelligence, in an airstrike while traveling with his convoy near Baghdad International Airport.

According to a correspondent for the Tehran network, Mousavi was one of Iran's senior IRGC figures in the Syrian arena. It was also claimed that he had been subjected to several assassination attempts by Israel in recent years. The network added that he was one of the most significant commanders in the Quds Force in the Revolutionary Guards.
According to another Arab report, Mousavi was the Quds Force's representative in Syria and was responsible for the logistical and financial channel for the forces on the ground during the civil war.
