When the war broke out, and when she was between chemotherapy treatments, Lieutenant Shira Sigmon left everything, and despite her parents' entreaties, she put on a uniform and flew to the base, to which she said: "I know the Judea and Samaria sector very well, and there's no way I'm not participating in this war for our home." Now she's dealing with a rare cancer and needs help herself.

Shira Sigmon is 25 years old, fighting for her life. By the time Shira was 5 years old, she had beaten cancer. Now, 20 years later, cancer has returned and is much more aggressive and violent.
In an instant, from a young woman full of dreams and plans to devour life, Shira found herself in a war for life.

"Shira was treated in Israel, by the best experts. But because of the complexity of the surgery she has to undergo, and the fact that this is a rare case that Israel has no experience in treating, the doctors recommended that Shira come to New York, where there is experience and the possibility of performing the complex surgeries she needs to undergo," Shira's family says.

Yossi Sigmon, Shira's father, added: "On the bloody Saturday of 7.10, Shira was still between chemotherapy treatments. When the difficult picture from the surrounding communities and kibbutzim became clear, she simply put on a uniform and flew to reserve duty in the Rantis sector in Judea and Samaria, even though we objected, her body still had tubes attached because it was singing. She managed to serve for two weeks and then the call came from the doctor in the United States who said we needed to get to the United States as soon as possible."

Within 24 hours, while the country was still burning, Shira and her family said goodbye to their friends and boarded the flight to New York, leaving a soldier's daughter (observation commander) in Israel, and their eldest son, who works with the army and must stay because of the war. Now she is fighting her war for her life and to win she needs everyone's help.

Efrat Sigmon, Shira's mother, says, "Shira celebrated her 25th birthday a week ago. Her appearance can be deceiving, but beneath this delicate façade of hers, there is the soul of a warrior, with superpowers and rare strengths of a young woman who is fighting for her life and has no intention of giving up. Us too! We've come this far, to give Shira the best chance possible. And now we will do whatever it takes to save her."
