Most of the foreign airlines left Israel at the beginning of the Iron Sword War, but now some of them are beginning to return to Israel and the expectation is that more companies will soon join them. Among the airlines that have already announced their return to Israel in early January are Swiss, Lufthansa, Austrian and Tarom.
Now, the American airline United plans to return to Israel at the beginning of February, and according to the flight schedule on the company's official website, as well as various search engines, the first flight from Israel to New York will take off on February 2. It is important to note that there may be changes depending on the security situation in the country and it is recommended to monitor developments and update with the airline if necessary.

In order to try to understand how much we will pay for flights to New York with United, we conducted a search for the company's first month of activity in Israel, February. The cheapest flights we've found, on a variety of dates, cost $1,647 per person in economy class as of this writing.
We compared EL AL's direct flights to New York that month and found flights starting at about $1,040 per person, a difference of about $600 on some dates. As mentioned, the Lufthansa Group is also expected to return to Israel at the beginning of January and is also offering flights to New York, but with a stop in Europe. In our testing, we found a wide range of dates starting at $637 per person, with stops in Zurich or Frankfurt, with flights operated by Swiss or Lufthansa.
